What is the Salary Calculator?

A salary calculator estimates your monthly in-hand pay and annual take-home from your CTC in India. It accounts for common deductions like Provident Fund and professional tax so you can see roughly what lands in your bank account each month. Income tax depends on your regime and is shown separately.

Formula & how it works

In-hand = Monthly gross − (PF + Professional tax + Other deductions)
Monthly gross
= annual CTC ÷ 12
PF
= 12% of monthly basic (default basic = 40% of CTC)

This is a simplified estimate for India. Income tax depends on your regime and declarations and is not deducted here. Statutory rules are versioned and shown with each result.

Example

An annual CTC of ₹15,00,000.

Inputs

Annual CTC
₹15,00,000
Basic
40% of CTC

Results

Monthly gross
₹1,25,000
Estimated in-hand
≈ ₹1,18,800

PF is 12% of the monthly basic (₹50,000), i.e. ₹6,000, plus ₹200 professional tax, giving an estimated monthly in-hand near ₹1,18,800 before income tax.

  2. 2Optionally enter your basic and any other annual deductions.
  3. 3Review your estimated monthly in-hand and annual take-home.

Frequently asked questions

What is CTC?+

CTC (Cost To Company) is the total annual amount an employer spends on you, including salary, benefits, and employer contributions.

Why is my in-hand less than my CTC?+

CTC includes deductions like PF and taxes, plus employer contributions, so your monthly in-hand is lower than CTC ÷ 12.

Does this include income tax?+

No. Income tax depends on your chosen regime and declarations, so this estimate excludes it and shows take-home before tax.
